2018 ASGARD EXPEDITION (1 of 3)

Qikiqtarjuaq and Region, Baffin Island

Cory was joined by 19-year-old daughter Sydney for first 2 weeks for a 100 km hike through the Akshayuk Pass in Auyuittuq National Park. The gruelling journey took them through through bog, ankle twisting moraine, icy river crossings, and precipitous footing of many kinds. The weight of their packs made it even more challenging, filled with painting gear, camera gear, and everything else needed for a 14 day trek. One of Cory goals was to find a inspiring view of Mount Asgard for a very large painting. To do this they camped for six days around the unique flat topped mountain and spent a day on the Turner glacier itself.

Cory was then picked up in Pangnirtung by a tourist vessel where he joined his wife, numerous collectors and other guests to travel further north for 2 more weeks along the coasts of Baffin and Devon Islands.
